Cut the Carbon Action Group
We believe that we are At War with Climate Change
As in WW2 the whole country must
be mobilised and motivated.
We in Baldernock would like to do our bit. Our Cut the Carbon group are looking at what we can do locally and are trying to build on the spirit shown by our members to show the way for communties in Scotland to avert a disaster here.
An update from Cut the Carbon Group: At our last meeting, we agreed to submit an application to the Climate Challenge Fund to employ someone in an awareness-raising post:
a local information officer who would support local residents and businesses in the area in order to reduce the carbon footprint of our community.
A small steering group has been working on this application - you can see a summary of it here.
If the application for this post is to be successful, we do need to demonstrate a commitment from the community at large and we invite as many of you as possible to be involved at this stage
If you are interested in finding out more, then please get in touch with Ros, Alison or Jean. We especially need some people to put their names to a constituted committee in order to take the application forward.
